Hey Everybody, Old School will be playing Durty Nellie’s on Friday October 3rd from 7 to 9PM. Hope we see you there!
Here’s the planned set list for the Downtown Mount Prospect Block Party Friday. We start at 6:30 and play until 8:20. It’s been a while since we played and we’re really looking forward to it. Check the Events page for all the info. We hope to see you there!
Hey everyone! It’s been a bit due to some health issues and what not, but we have some news to share! Old School will be playing the Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party again this year, from 6:30 to 8:20 PM on July 25th. Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss it. Check the Events page for all the details.
In other news, I think it’s past time to stop calling Meg Shanahan a guest. She’s a part of the band, and a great addition at that! She brings a lot to the show, and we enjoy performing with her.
And yet more news. On keys, welcome Jim Gaynor. He joined us for the Durty Nellie’s gig earlier in the year. Having keys fills in the missing pieces in some of our material, and allows us to branch out into areas we couldn’t before. If you like to hear the B3 scream, Jim’s your man!
That’s it for now. Stay tuned as we get closer and start nailing down the set list. See you on July 25th!
Some tweaks have been made to the set list for the Durty Nellie’s show Friday. We’ve been working hard and are excited to perform this material for you.
In his debut performance with Old School, we will have Jim Gaynor with us on keys. Make sure you’re there to see the depth the keys add to the Old School sound.
We’re on at 7PM sharp, and it’ll save you some money to get there on time!
Hope to see you there!
Here’s the setlist we’re working from as we prepare for the Durty Nellie’s gig Friday, April 4th, with Mr Blotto. The cover charge is $5 before 7:30PM, and $12 after 7:30PM.
The incomparable Meghan Shanahan will be with us again and we’re working up some Led Zeppelin material that we’ve either not done in a while, or is new for Old School! A couple of the songs are off of the Physical Graffiti album which recently celebrated it’s 50th anniversary.
Mark your calendars and make sure you’re there!
A quick update. The Durty Nellie’s show is Friday the 4th. I accidently said it was Saturday, but it’s not! See the post below for more info.
Hey everybody! Old School will be at Durty Nellie’s on April 4th, 7 to 9PM. We will be joined by Meg Shanahan again, who we keep calling a special guest, but is starting to feel like a normal member of the band. We might also have a keyboard player with us; you’ll have to come out to see if it happens! Durty Nellie’s feels like home for Old School, and we’re looking forward to a great night. Make sure you’re there. All the info can be found on the Events page. We’re opening for Mr Blotto, Chicago’s original jam band. Don’t miss this great night of rock ‘n’ roll!
Hey everybody. A quick update. Due to circumstances beyond our control, Old School will not be at Peggy Kinnane’s on Saturday the 22nd. In our stead, OK Boomer will be playing with Matt Claus. Make sure to go see them and support local music, and we will see you real soon! Stayed tuned for more news to come soon, and thanks for supporting Old School!
Hey everybody!
It’s been a while, so I thought we were due for an update.
Who’s tired of Winter? I certainly am (Jim speaking here)! Really looking forward to Spring for many reasons not the least of which being some Old School gigs on the calendar. We will have more formal announcements coming soon, but here’s a quick run down of what we know.
Old School will be returning to Peggy Kinnane’s on Saturday March 22nd. We had a great time at Peggy’s in January and are looking forward to returning! Come on out and celebrate the Spring Equinox with Old School. The Equinox is technically the 20th, but the 22nd is close enough for rock ‘n’ roll.
Old School will be returning to Durty Nellie’s on April 4th. We will be opening for Mr Blotto, Chicago’s original jam band. Should be a fun night of rock!
Finally, looking all the way out to summer, Old School will tentatively be playing the Mount Prospect Lions Club 4th of July Fest at Melas Park on July 5th. Hold loosely on this one as I don’t know if this is 100% solid at this point.
Look for more formal announcements for each of these as we get closer!
So, hang in there! We’re nearly done with Winter 2025, and better things are around the corner!
Here’s the tentative setlist for Old School’s January 11th gig at Peggy Kinnane’s. We’ll be playing from 8PM to Midnight. The first set will start with a set of tunes from Bad Company’s first, self titled, album in honor of it’s 50th anniversary. The second set will feature Meg Shanahan, an amazing vocalist that you won’t want to miss.
This will be a great night of rock! Mark your calendars and we’ll see you there!
